Dr Khan joined the Department of Economics at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in August 2000. Prior to his appointment at LUMS, he was teaching at Quaid-i-Azam University from 1986 to 2000. He also taught at International Islamic University, Islamabad, Suleyman Demirel University, Kazakhstan, and Kansas State University, USA. He received his PhD in Economics from Kansas State University. He serves on various committees and taskforces of the government. His research interests include applied econometrics, labor economics, and agricultural economics. He has taught various courses including Econometrics, Microeconomic Analysis, Agriculture and Food Policy, Labor Economics, and Intermediate Microeconomics. He has co-authored the Draft Industrial Policy 2012 published by the Ministry of Industries, Islamabad and Punjab Economic Report, 2017 published by Punjab Economic Research Institute, Lahore. He has contributed to projects for the World Bank, International Growth Centre, Tetra Pak, and Nestlé. His academic research has appeared in Applied Economics, Economics Bulletin, and Pakistan Development Review. He has supervised many MPhil and Master’s theses.
