Dr. Irfan Ahmad Qureshi

Dr. Irfan Qureshi has joined us as Assistant Professor-Tenure Track in the Department of Economics - (MGSHSS).

Dr. Qureshi recently completed his PhD. in Economics from the University of Warwick, UK after having obtained his M.Phil. from the same institution in 2013. He has an undergraduate degree from McGill University, Canada, a Master of Science from GSE, Barcelona, Spain, specializing in macroeconomic policy and financial markets, and a diploma in teaching and learning in higher education from the University of Warwick.

His current research explores topics related to the conduct of monetary policy, and the role of money in business cycle models. He is also working with the Asian Development Bank, Philippines, on developing ‘nowcasting’ and forecasting tools for developing countries who are facing critical data issues. Prior to joining LUMS, he was working with University of Warwick as a Teaching Fellow. He has been previously associated with LUMS as a Teaching Fellow from 2010 to 2011.

His research interests include:

·       Monetary Economics

·       Applied Macroeconometrics
