Miss. Mahrukh Baig

Ms. Mahrukh Baig has joined us as Teaching Fellow in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences - (MGSHSS).

Ms. Baig is a Master of Philosophy in Applied Linguistics from University of Management and Technology. Moreover, she has studied Systemic Functional Linguistics at Cardiff University, Wales. She has composed many articles which are reflective of her work on contemporary linguistics and language pedagogy. Besides research publications in multiple International Journals based in Germany, Australia, USA and India, her Doctoral research lies in an interesting and innovative domain of Communicative Silence. She has a passion for teaching and enjoys travelling and sports in her leisure time. Prior to joining LUMS, she was working with University of Management and Technology as a Lecturer of English.

Her research interests include:

·       Feminism

·       Structural Linguistics

·       Socio-pragmatics
